1954 Buick Wildcat II Show Car
Another concept car from Buick was the 1954 Wildcat II. The open wheel wells were a throwback to earlier decades, but were executed with a very modern interpretation.
Notice the headlights are in pods mounted to the front bumper.
That styling cue would be copied by Chrysler Corporation for the 1961-63 Imperials.
The next picture is shown to use humans to give a scale to the car.
Although I have never seen a reference to the 1st-gen Corvettes with other GM concept cars of the early '50s, the size and general contours of the car (and even the shape of the windshield and doors) suggest there may have been some collaboration among the various concept cars and the 'Vette.
