George Washington Quarter Dollar Commerative Series - Part III
America the Beautiful Series: 2010-2021
Legislation was passed by Congress to continue the commemorative coinage of the Washington Quarter Dollar after the District of Columbia and U.S. Territories Quarters Program ended in 2009.  The America the Beautiful Quarters Program is a multi-year initiative to honor 56 national parks and other national sites in each state, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories - Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands.
The obverse ('heads') side of the coin will continue to use the revised George Washington design started in 1999.  As in the previous programs, the reverse ('tails') side of the coin will change for each site being honored.  New coins will be issued at the rate of 5 per year, or approximately every 10 weeks.
